Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Trials and Research Compliance, the Supervisor of Research Administration will identify funding opportunities for investigators and assist in the development of the proposals per the specific requirements of the funding agency. The Research Administration Supervisor will apply the regulations governing the preparation of research budgets and ensure compliance with research billing. The position will perform cost analysis for individual studies and will reconcile full cost recovery of research payments and ensure that double payments have not been made. The supervisor manages all aspects of pre- and post-award sponsored research. The position will assist the director with the implementation, training and on-going management of the new electronic clinical trials management systems (CTMS). The supervisor assists the director in education and training of management, research teams and hospital staff.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the supervision of the director, the position manages all research proposal development activities of The Valley Hospital.

Administers and communicate policies and procedures related to research administration to include pre and post award activities and research billing; with oversight of the Director, manages receipt of awards and administration of sponsored funds.

Works with the Director, Legal and Finance Departments to negotiate facilities and administrative cost rate (indirect cost); processes cost transfers and prepares financial reports.

Searches for and disseminates information on funding opportunities in the areas of TVH physicians' research interests.

Assists in the implementation of a revised research billing system.

Manages electronic resources, including training and rollout of a new clinical trials management system; develops and maintains a research administration web site and electronic grant and report submissions.

Works with the faculty and administration to determine institutional needs that may be addressed through research administration.

Works with representatives from various private, state, and federal agencies in generating grant opportunities for the institution and serve as liaison and representative throughout the grant process as appropriate.

Coordinates education, training, workshops and presentations related to research administration.

Assists with the production and dissemination of the Research Administration Annual Report.

Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required

Strong knowledge of OMB circulars, CFR as it pertains to research administration

Four years of experience as a professional in grant writing management or a closely related position

Personal involvement and success in securing grants

Ability to analyze data and develop a successful strategic plan

Inspirational leader and proven team builder

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Computer proficiency, including word processing, spread sheets, database, presentation, email and Internet.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate degree

CRA Certification

Grant writing experience in higher educationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
